Blessed are the broodmares....

Dahlia de Vez
Dahlia de Vez
PFHA # 22,603
1994 black (turned gray) mare

Dahlia de Vez

Dahlia is prized as a tremendous broodmare. Her offspring almost always sell before weaning due to their tremendous presence and gait. She was not put under saddle due to her exclusive use as a valued broodmare. Her dam, Hija de los Vientos, was a daughter of the incredible Frio Viento - seen on the home page and Memories page - and a fino machine in her show days.

Dahlia's pedigee shows three Top Ten Sires - Triunfo (PR), Plebeyo (COL), and Coral LaCE; two Grand National Champions - Coral LaCE and Frio Viento; as well as a Reserve Grand National Champion - Plebeyo.

Falina with colt in 2003. Colt sold at 1 day old...
Coral's Falina de Vez

Falina is a full sister to Sundancer Mako, Sirena de Coral Mako, Coral's Genius Mako, and Coral's Viajero - just to mention a few of her well known and respected brothers and sisters.

Notice in particular the laid back shoulder and extension in Falina's stride - an exceptional asset for speed-bred Pasos.

One ride in France on her full sister, Coral's Salina de Vez, brought an entire family and their vet from Germany to La Caballeriza. Their goal was to buy a full sister and breed to Sundancer Mako to produce more of these exceptional speed horses.

This cremello mare is linebred on Cori and Maria Luisa. She is a dream and an excellent dam. She has produced two golden palomino fillies - see Mariana de Vez on the sales page.

This mare is aptly named and bred to follow in the hoofbeats of her namesake, the incomparable and original Maria Luisa.

Maraquita is a shy mare who was started in training several years ago. At that time, she received about a month under saddle. A colt of hers sold himself at 2 months by his outstanding presence and personality.

Maraquita is a blend of the bloodlines of Plebeyo, Coral LaCE, Triunfo, and Kofresi. Her gait is exellent.

Otra looks like a clone of her dam, Otra Vez, except that she has a lot more size. She has produced several very nice offspring when bred to Corito de Vez. Naturally, being out of my Otra Vez, she is very special.

Dolly has won many a CTR (Competitive Trail Ride) and Endurance titles with her stamina and willingness to compete. She can be, and has been, ridden by the very aged and she takes excellent care of her riders. She has a great heart that wants to please. Dolly is specifically bred for for speed and extension in the largo gait and was a top contender in CTR and endurance rides when she was competing.

Dolly'a dam is a daughter of PFHA Foundation stallion, Bolero LaCE and half sister to Bandolero Royal - a 3-time National Grand Champion in Performance. Her dam is also half sister to Daddy's Shadow who won the Old Dominion 50 mile ride and won Best Condition as well against 27 Arabs!
